ArchivalResource

Diaries. 1866-1868.

The diaries were kept, possibly by S. Roberts, on voyages to and from Australia in the sailing ships Swiftsure and True Briton. The first voyage was from Gravesend to Plymouth and then to Williamstown, Victoria, in 1866. The second was the return voyage from Sandridge Railway Pier, Victoria to Falmouth, in 1868. The daily entries are brief and mainly talk of the weather.
